Here Comes The Bride …

Hi, Everybody:

This particular design is one of my favorites for weddings or bridal showers.  I made it originally for Lauren and Phillip, our pastor's daughter and her husband, for their bridal shower in June 2010.  I know … "you're just sharing it with us!!!"  Yes … but "better late than never."  I have used this design for other weddings though — Mandi and Gerald's wedding, too.  It's just FUN and perfect for the occasion!!!  I change the colors to match what the bride chooses for her wedding.

Actually, I can't take credit for this card. I was inspired by a card posted on "Stampin' Connection" — a community for Stampin' Up Demonstrators.  It takes me forever design a card (at least 4 hours) … but I can CASE or copy anything … and you know, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

February: Mixed Bunch

Greetings from Georgia!!

In February, I created cards using my FAVORITE new stamp set — Mixed Bunch.  Mixed Bunch was introduced in Stampin' Up!'s 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog, which was available through April 30, 2012.  BUT …  GUESS WHAt??!!  It made it into the 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog.  I am so excited.  I just gravitate to the whimsical looking flower stamps.  Mixed Bunch also has a punch that coordinates with it — sized perfectly for the designs called Blossom Punch.  It made it to the new catalog, too.  YEAH!!!

OK … about the cards.  The card to your left was designed by one of my favorite designers, Connie Babbert.  The card on your right was inspired by make and takes that attendees made at the 2012 Leadership Conference.  This card was designed by Cristena Bagne.  The recipes for the cards are:

January Club Cards

Just wanted to share some cards that I've created this year.  Since it's been such a hectic year so far, I'm behind in my posts.  April and May (so far) have been GREAT.  You'll be able to tell … some are Valentines, those were made mostly in January.  Oh … I also re-started our Recipe club, which is included in all three of my clubs.  More about that later.  Here come the cards.

The stamp sets featured featured are Just Believe and P.S. I Love You (available from Stampin' Up!).  Oh … P.S. I Love You is not in the new catalog so … let me know if you'd like it.  I'll see if I can find it for you.

I'll post the February cards tomorrow … and by the end of the week, we'll be caught up!!

Have a GREAT day and … Thanks for stopping by.

2012 … LIFE!!

Hi, Everybody:

I just wanted you to know that, although life has bee crazy for me this year, I haven't stopped stampin'.  But … I haven't posted much here and just wanted to give you an update as to what's going on in my life.  In December, when I went to visit with my family over Christmas, my mother was in the hospital with a UTI.  It acted a LOT like a virus and all of my family had it (including me).  I guess they cleared up the infection but … in January, right before my mother's 90th birthday, she was again hospitalized again with Congestive Heart Failure caused by another UTI.  She miraculously survived it and we moved her to a rehab facility.  Since then my mother has come home and is doing remarkably well.  We moved both of my parents to "the cottage" and, although, blind, she has learned to manuver around the house.  Then … in February, I had plastic surgery — basal cell carcinoma.  In March, "Mister P", our beloved kitty, died just after his 6th birthday.  You know … my kitties are my kids.  This was very traumatic — I called "Mister P" — "the Mommy's Baby Boy".  And … he was just that.  He went with me everywhere.  (Mister P is the black kitty in this picture.)  I miss him so much!!  Anyway, I just wanted you to know what's been going on with me.  My next post will be of the cards I've taught in club this year — there'll be a lot of them (I have 3 clubs a month) — and that will be followed with a tutorial for the Telescope Card.

Have a wonderful day!!  You are loved!!

Love Out Loud: Face-to-Face

Each year our church does Love Out Loud.  This year it was on February 12, 2012, and … we wanted to give it a personal touch.  It is a day of ministering all over our community to people with a personal touch.

This year we had one team go to the laundromat and actually pay for people's laundry.  Another team went to our local jail and talked with the inmates housed there.  Other teams handed out Bibles, did yard work, visiting people in nursing homes and those who are confined to their homes.  We even had one team that had a party planned specifically for children with special needs.  It was an AWESOME day!!

But … I want to tell you about my team … it was the Card-Making and Delivery Team.  We made over 250 greeting cards and delivered them the the staff of the nursing home and retirement center in Rincon and Springfield, Georgia.

Other teams delivered our cards to those involved in our Homebound Ministry (those confined to their homes) and to the Emergency Responders in Rincon.

Have a wonderful day!!

Love ya!!!

The Sounding Joy 1

This card was created for my very first Christmas Club in 2011. Pam Williams, the hostess for this workshop, chose the stamp set which was featured — The Sounding Joy. I was inspired for this card by one created by Sage Kimball. Cherry Cobbler is one of my favorite colors which made the perfecting starting point. Here is the recipe for the card:

STAMP SET: The Sounding Joy

COLORS: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Brushed Silver, Very Vanilla

ACCESSORIES: Big Shot, Snow Burst Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, VersaMark, Clear Embossing Powder,Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Regals Buttons, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Mini Jingle Bells, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin Dimensionals

This was a difficult week for Effingham County, so I wanted to make this fun for everybody. They drew a snowman with their eyes closed (as directed) and then made this card. We had so much fun!!!

Punch Art Owl … In a Bikini

I received this card from one of my awesome customers, Jackie Ledford,  this week.  It features several punches sold by Stampin' Up!   Designing cards is sometimes difficult so … I study cards for inspiration for my designs.  After studying Jackie's card, she used the following items (this is not an all-inclusive list):

STAMPS:     Four Frames

COLORS:     Real Red, Whisper White, Soft Suede

PUNCHES:    Owl Builder, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Decorative Label

ACCESSORIES:  1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Diecuts, Stampin' Dimensionals

My customers are so creative as you can see.  I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
